30 Pipes - More than 30 Years
The Pipe Nook is very excited to present this group of Savinelli Adria Handmade Pipes!
The Adria series of all Handmade pipes was discontinued in the early 1980's. Recently, Savinelli discovered a group of 30 Adria Pipes, which was hidden away in a box in their warehouse for more than 30 years! When I heard the details of these pipes, I immediately agreed to make them available as a Pipe Nook Exclusive.
Savinelli Adria Pipes are named after the town of Adria in Northern Italy. There is no way to know how many of these pipes were made, but Savinelli tells us the line was sold for many years up until the early 80's. They were a moderately priced series of freehand pipes, completely handmade by some of the best Artisans working for Savinelli at the time.
These pipes feature hand-carved bowls and shanks with beautiful rustication, and hand-cut black acrylic stems. Because these are handmade, they don't necessarily adhere to the Savinelli shape chart, although you will see more traditional shapes here than in the much more expensive Autograph series which is currently in production. No two are exactly alike, as there are variations in shape, finish staining, and more. Some have non-carbonized bowls, and some are carbonized. All of the bowls have nice thick walls, and all of the stems fit a 6mm Savinelli filter. Not only is the briar quality fantastic, but it has been aged for more than 30 years since these pipes were created.
It was a fluke that these have lasted so many years, and when these 30 pipes are gone, there will most likely never be any more. Very few Adria pipes have become available over the years in the Estate Pipe market, and The Pipe Nook is proud to be the only source anywhere for unsold and unsmoked Adria Handmade Pipes today!
